Share
Titleist golf balls are currently the number one golf ball on the worldwide professional tours making them the most trusted golf ball with the very best players in the world. The Pro V1 and Pro V1x are the main models of ball played on the tour but there still lots of other Titleist golf balls designed for beginners, longer distances, straighter shots, and so on.
We have the likes of Justin Thomas playing the Titleist Pro V1x and Webb Simpson playing the Titleist Pro V1 with many more on the male and female tours. The mid to high handicapper would benefit greatly from some of the other Titleist golf ball models including the Titleist AVX for a premium very soft golf ball, the Titleist Velocity for low spin, and the Titleist Tour Soft for shot-making around the green.
Here at MailOrderGolf we also receive many of the older brands with divers collecting them from lakes and walkers collecting them from the courses. These could include the Titleist NXT, Titleist DT SoLo, Titleist DT Carry, and many more which make a great affordable lake ball.
Brief History of Titleist Golf Balls
Titleist is actually a brand name of the company Acushnet who manufactures Titleist golf balls and is owned by sports equipment company Fila Korea Ltd. In the beginning, Phillip Young founded Titleist in 1932 creating the first-ever Titleist golf ball which featured a uniform rubber string around a rubber core.
New refinements were made to the balls in 1948 where it resulted in greater distance and became the most popular golf ball used at the U.S Open in 1949. This is where the number one ball on tour was born and still is the same today.
Advancements were made over the next few years and the next milestone came with the Pro V1. Which is quite simply the most successful piece of golf equipment in the history of the game. We now have an array of golf ball models from Titleist, catering for all abilities, swing speeds, and spin control.
